About Maddie
I'm Maddie, and I make Kirby entirely on my own — one autistic developer who cares, maybe a little too much, about getting the small things right.
Kirby exists because I wanted an email app with nothing sneaky in it. No reading your mail to sell you things, no tracking pixels phoning home, no web page dressed up as a Mac app. Your mail comes from your provider to your Mac, and what happens on your Mac stays there. That's the whole deal.
Building software like this is how I earn my living. Traditional employment has never sat well with the way my mind is wired, so I've built something that does: apps I believe in, made for real people, and supported directly by the people who use them. Every purchase and every bit of support comes straight to me — no investors, no company taking a cut — and it's what makes it possible for me to keep creating.
So, from me to you: thank you. You're not just buying an app — you're making this whole way of living possible.

Why "Kirby"?
He's named after my dog. The Kirby in the icon, suit and all, was drawn by Peggie.
